40 Years of Wildlife Stories: The Genius of the ‘Trash Panda’ Raccoon

2024 marks our 40th year in business, and in the next few posts I’d like to reflect on some of the jobs that have made the past four decades truly special to me.

Truly a Trash Panda

Raccoons, affectionately dubbed “Trash Pandas” for their love of garbage feasts, showcased their genius when a call came in about a mother raccoon making a den for her babies in a garbage can. I mean, talk about doorstep delivery! However, her protective instincts, expressed through attempted hand-biting maneuvers, signaled it was time for a change.
