2024 marks our 40th year in business, and in these posts I’d like to reflect on some of the jobs that have made the past four decades truly special to me.
Featured on National Geographic Channel
Throughout the years, we’ve been fortunate to capture the attention of numerous local and global media outlets eager to document our humane approach. Our methods have been featured in various documentaries, including notable productions such as David Suzuki’s “Nature of Things,” BBC’s “Wildlife on One,” and the particularly noteworthy National Geographic Channel’s 12-part series titled “Animal Extractors.”
On the day the National Geographic Channel film crew descended upon Toronto, we found ourselves dealing with a mother raccoon and her babies. In my four decades of experience, I had never encountered a more aggressive mother raccoon. With the cameraman, sound guy, and producer accompanying us in the attic, we faced considerable challenges to prevent any potential bites. The mother raccoon not only chased us out of the attic but also forced us off the roof. In a surprising turn of events, she decided to pursue the cameraman, causing him to trip and his brand-new HD camera came crashing to the ground. All of which was caught on film. Fortunately, the camera sustained no damage, allowing the filming to resume.
